The Holt 97626 Current Transformer is a precision current transfomer designed specifically for calibrating
instruments in the range from 20 Amps to 200 Amps at frequencies in the range from 50 Hertz to 1000 Hertz, 200
to 500 Amps from 50 Hertz to 400 Hertz. The high current primary terminals are designed to plug directly into the
output of commercial transconductance amplifiers. The spacing between terminals is adjustable and optional
types of plugs are available to fit sockets of varying types.
The primary and secondary windings are separated by low capacitance double shielding to reduce errors due to
ground currents at higher frequencies. The primary winding is constructed as a closed cylinder to reduce primary
inductance. This greatly reduces the burden voltage at the output of the instrument being calibrated and also
reduces errors due to leakage flux at all frequencies.
The turns ratio of 1 to 1000 may be used with built-in shunt resistors of 1 ohm or 10 ohms producing the output
voltages shown in the table in the specifications section below.
This instrument, based on the current transformers designed by Holt and used in the Holt Model 250 Ammeter
Calibrator, have a proven 30 year history of accuracy and reliability.
